MAS Middle School Program

 

 

 

Objectives:

Prepare the healthy environment for the middle schoolers to get to know & earn more knowledge about Islam

Get to know each other, get to know senior brothers & interact with them 

Conduct discussions about troubles, conflicts, or problems or any other issues that concern the Muslim Youth, which face them at school, home, Masjid, or anywhere else

Perform together short talks, community activities, sports activities, and outdoor activities

 

Outline:

Recruitment of the youth will be either from ABY graduates or other youth from Muslim families in the community

The program is for Boys and Girls who are middle schoolers (age 10-13)

Program will run on Sundays, 12:30 am to 3:30 pm (with Zuhr prayer and lunch program time)

MAS Office will be the place to conduct the program, in addition to outdoor activities that will be conducted in locations suitable to activity

The number of youth in each group shall not exceed 10 members, preferably between 6-8

Form groups based on similar habits, fluency in Arabic language, and Age

A primary counselor for each group is needed, plus an assistant counselor if available

The structure of the contents of the program should be, previously, planned for by the program manager and given to the primary counselors or to his assistant in case of his absence.

 

Program:
The program is to cover the following areas:

Education:

    Islamic Manners

    Seerah of the Prophet

    Stories from Quran and Stories of the Prophets

    Arabic Language

Indoor and Outdoor activities:

    Social activities (Volunteer work - Community work)

    Sports activities (Competitions – Parks – Lakes)

    Field trips

     

Evaluation:

    Evaluation of youth participating in the program will be done by the group counselor on a monthly basis. Participants that are not functioning according to program plan to be reported to program manager.
